Career and Professional Development Center

Visit us in the Exhibit Hall Location G! Near the Job Placement Center and Career Opportunities Aisle is the Career and Professional Development Center, which offers a variety of activities to help propel your career forward. Access mini skills sessions, one-on-one and group coaching, get a free professional headshot, enjoy a few fun photo opportunities, create your own recharge kit, and visit the networking lounge.

Participate in 10 to 15-minute mini sessions designed to help you enhance your well-being, career and professional development, and academic skills.

Well-being Fun Zone

Enhance your well-being, build new communities, strengthen existing ones, and connect with colleagues outside of sessions by engaging in a variety of enjoyable and creative activities. Create your own recharge kit, participate in professional development and fulfillment exercises (including a community mural), take part in fun photo opportunities, collect vibrant ribbons, and enjoy some sweet treats.

Create your own Mardi Gras mask to use at our selfie station.  

Fun Ribbons
Collect a variety of fun ribbons to attach to your name badge and let your personality shine. 

Sensory Station
Stop by the Fun Zone to create your own ACP Recharge Kit. Choose from a variety of ACP-branded items to help with stress relief and sensory grounding while connecting you to ACP well-being resources. 

Career Wisdom Board
What career advice would you like to share with others? What helps you shine when moments get tough? Share Your Light by filling out a card to hang on our Career Wisdom Board. 

#IMProud Group Mural
What makes you proud to be in Internal Medicine? What drives you to be your best? How do you make your unique voice heard? Share who you are and connect with your IM community by creating a coloring tile to add to our group mural.  

Support System Activity
Name one to three people from your support system (family, friends, and community) who support you and inspire you to believe in yourself. Take a selfie and share it with them!

Vision Board
Engage in creative activities to help you envision the next steps in your professional journey or to encapsulate your experience at Internal Medicine Meeting 2025.

ACP Physician Peer Coaching

Sign up for 30 minute one-on-one, personalized Career Coaching sessions or one hour group sessions with trained coaches in the Career and Professional Development Center. Group coaching topics include:

  • Finding Your Agency and Your Voice
  • Getting Unstuck: Overcoming Career Obstacles
  • Identifying and Connecting with Your Core Values
  • How to Silence Your Inner Critic
  • Identifying Your Strengths

These are ticketed events and appointments must be booked in advance. You can add on your coaching session when you register for Internal Medicine Meeting 2025 or at a later date.

How to add on a coaching session to an existing Internal Medicine Meeting 2025 registration:

  1. Log in to your ACP account
  2. Click on “My Account”
  3. Navigate to “My Meetings” and click on “View Registration” next to Internal Medicine Meeting 2025 New Orleans
  4. Next to “Select Events”, click “Edit” and add on your coaching session to your registration

Abstract and Posters Competition

Hundreds of award-winning posters and abstracts will be displayed for viewing and judging in the Career and Professional Development Center. View and discuss posters created by Early Career Physicians, Residents and Fellows in-training, and Medical Students. Poster types include Basic Research, Clinical Research, Quality Improvement-Patient Safety, High Value Care, Physician Well-Being and Professional Fulfillment, and Clinical Vignettes.

 

 

 

 

Networking Lounge

Visit the networking lounge to relax and recharge. Use this opportunity to connect with your colleagues and meet new people. Light refreshments will be offered.

Located down the aisle from the Career and Professional Development Center, be sure to visit the Job Placement Center. Whether you’re a resident beginning your job search or a physician who has been practicing for many years, the ACP Job Placement Center will help you find your ideal position. View nationwide job postings, meet with potential employers, and benefit from free, valuable services to assist in your search.

  • Browse active job openings—stop by the Job Placement Center to peruse job openings by region, or browse available positions on the meeting app.
  • Be seen by potential employers—submit a Physician Profile and CV to be seen by participating employers.
  • Register for CV Review—make a free appointment on-site to have your CV reviewed and get pointers on how to get your CV to work for you.
  • Get assistance navigating the J1 Visa Process—register on-site for a free consultation to meet with an immigration lawyer who will answer your questions regarding the process.
