New for Internal Medicine Meeting 2023! Explore a robust center of professional development resources to help you grow at any stage of your career. Located in the Exhibit Hall, the Career & Professional Development Center offers a variety of activities, mini skills sessions, support resources and networking opportunities with coaches and mentors to help you propel your career forward.

Academic Skills Center

Take advantage of breaks in between sessions to participate in short, energizing sessions designed to help enhance your academic and professional skills.

  • Mini but Mighty Academic Skills—Attend 10-minute mini skills sessions followed by a Q&A with the Annals of Internal Medicine and Annals of Internal Medicine: Clinical Cases editors. Session topics include:

    • Best Practices in Writing a Case Report
    • Navigating Authorship
    • How to Be a Peer Reviewer
  • Table Sessions—Participate in Meet the Editor and Meet the Podcaster Table Sessions. Meet Dr. Centor from Annals On Call and the Editors of Annals of Internal Medicine and Annals of Internal Medicine: Clinical Cases.

  • Career and QI Coaching/Mentoring—Sign up for a 30-minute one-on-one, personalized Career or QI Coaching Sessions with trained coaches.

Abstract and Posters Competition

Hundreds of award-winning posters and abstracts will be displayed for viewing and judging in the Academic Skills Center. View and discuss posters created by Early Career Physicians, Residents, and Medical Students. Poster types include Basic Research, Clinical Research, Quality Improvement-Patient Safety, High Value Care, Physician Well-Being and Professional Fulfillment, and Clinical Vignettes.
